Reporting to the Executive Director of Annual Giving in Institutional Advancement (IA), the Director of Athletics Fundraising directs and manages athletics fundraising efforts for the college. This includes but is not limited to securing annual unrestricted and designated Athletic funds, leadership annual gifts and major gifts through the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of alumni, parents, and friends. In addition, the director will manage and/or support athletic fundraising programs including (but not limited to) the Green & Gold Athletic challenge, Alumni Games, The Green and Gold Golf Tournament, annually raising funds for Athletics and individual athletics teams. The Director of Athletics Fundraising is dedicated to maximizing annual gifts to the Green & Gold Fund and identifying potential leadership donors through frequent, required travel to conduct personal solicitations and build relationships with individual donors.
Bachelor's degree with five years or more of fundraising, sales or similar experience is required.
Proven success in working with volunteers recommended.
Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends to meet with prospects and support programming and events.
Ability to use Microsoft, database tools such as Raiser’s Edge, internet and email
Strong commitment to private liberal arts education.
Effective writing, statistical analysis, data management (Excel), customer service and marketing skills.
Creative, articulate self-starter who possesses strong interpersonal, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work in an environment that encourages consensus building, teamwork, collegial decision-making, and accountability for results is essential.
Effective time management, planning and organizational skills are critical.
Must possess tact, diplomacy, and discretion in confidential matters.
