The Georgia Gwinnett College Office of Athletics seeks an Assistant Athletics Director for External Operations. The position will report to the Director of Athletics and will oversee all crucial external affairs of the department, including development, marketing and brand strategy, sports communications and community relations.
Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
The Assistant AD for External Operations will be a vital resource in revenue generation for Grizzly Athletics to support the student-athlete experience. Development functions of the position include cultivating, acquiring and strengthening corporate sponsorships, overseeing functions of the Grizzly Club, and coordinating giving efforts. The position’s marketing and brand strategy functions will have the mission of growing awareness of and advancing the reach of the Grizzly brand, primarily throughout the Gwinnett and metro Atlanta areas. Part of this mission will include protecting brand integrity, including logo usage and licensing rights. The position also will include management of the Office’s sports communications employees and operations, including sports information functions, GrizzlyAthletics.com and the Grizzly Digital Network. Further, the Assistant AD for External Operations will coordinate community efforts with external partners to ensure Grizzly Athletics’ vital role in the community, involving the cultivation and management of key external relationships. Through these combined efforts, the position is charged with increasing the positive competitive atmosphere at Athletics contests, enhancing the fan and student-athlete experience.
The position will work in concert with the Georgia Gwinnett College central offices of Development and Public Affairs.

Position oversees the following areas for Athletics:
Marketing & Brand Strategy
Marketing campaigns, promotional efforts to increase awareness of Grizzly Athletics
Rights and licenses
Logos, Marks, Images, Broadcasts
Grizzly Digital Network
Develop and grow relationships with external constituents
Knowledge of sales, advertising programs, and selling techniques
General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics at NAIA or NCAA level
Knowledge of corporate sponsorships and agreements
Public relations skills
Interpersonal/human relations skills
Verbal and written communication skills
Event management skills
Ability to initiate and maintain professional relationships
Ability to interact with diverse groups of people
3 or more years of fundraising, corporate sponsorship or marketing experience in Intercollegiate Athletics at the NAIA or NCAA level.
