University of Mount Olive is a private four-year institution located in eastern North Carolina, one hour from Raleigh and one and one-half hours from the coastal city of Wilmington. A Division II member of the Conference Carolinas, the institution sponsors 22 competitive intercollegiate sports teams and has approximately 425 student-athletes. UMO won the Hawn Cup, which is the conference’s award for all-sports excellence, last year and has finished in first or second place in the award standings in each of the last eight years.
