The mission of the NC State Department of Athletics is to prepare student-athletes to compete at the highest level and to inspire them to be leaders now and for the future by providing the best environment to achieve their athletic, academic and personal aspirations as well as providing support for the professional development of our coaches and staff, all within the role of the greater institutional relationships to the University. This position will serve as a Senior Associate Athletic Director for North Carolina State University Athletic Department which competes at the NCAA Division I in the Atlantic Coast Conference
Reporting to the Director of Athletics at the North Carolina State University, this executive staff position is responsible for providing collaborative integration and communication of all fundraising efforts and seeking and maximizing revenue opportunities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Serving on NC State Athletics’ executive staff under the direction of the Director of Athletics, a senior leadership group responsible for management and oversight of 23 varsity programs and more than 550 student-athletes. Serving as the Point of Contact for North Carolina State University Advancement within the NC State Athletic Department and works closely with the Director of Athletics and the Executive Director of the Wolfpack Club to maintain regular communication between the two organizations. Assisting in the planning and implementation of all revenue generation strategies that will sustain and grow NC State Athletics. Working with appropriate parties to maximize revenue opportunities through capital projects. Serving as sport supervisor for a few of the 23 varsity programs. Providing supervision and oversight to assigned employees, units, and processes. Other duties as assigned by Athletic Director.
Must have 5+ years of experience working in intercollegiate athletics, specifically within development/fundraising
Must have thorough knowledge of fundraising/revenue generation skills and tools, with particular emphasis on major and capital giving programs
Must have excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be available for extensive travel (25%-50% of working time)
Master’s Degree preferred
Experience working with Division I head coaches
Experience in marketing, sponsorships, outbound ticket sales, and other forms of revenue generation within intercollegiate athletics
