Vacancy Announcement Head Volleyball Coach Full-Time, 9-month (1.0 FTE) (Internal/External) Position Summary: Valley City State seeks a qualified highly energetic and ambitious professional to serve as Head Volleyball Coach. This position reports to the Director for Athletics. The primary tasks are to organize, recruit and develop a successful volleyball program with the academic mission of the university. In addition, a secondary administrative and/or teaching responsibility will be assigned. This position will recruit quality student-athletes for the volleyball program, develop and conduct organized practices, develop a schedule that includes representative and competitive contests, create and maintain sport budgets, counsel student-athletes in a positive manner, and coordinate fundraising opportunities for the volleyball program. Successful candidate will develop positive rapport with athletics staff and the community and represent the university to various constituents in a professional manner.

Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years coaching experience, and/or four years collegiate playing experience or a combination are required.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree, accomplished coaching background, excellent communication skills; strong organizational and leadership skills; a proven ability to recruit quality student-athletes; a commitment and history of integrating the student athlete into the campus community of a small college are preferred.
