The College of Wooster is seeking an Assistant Field Hockey Coach. This is a 10-month salaried position with benefits. The Assistant Coach, under guidance by the Head Coach, will assist with coaching, organizing, planning, directing and implementing all aspects of a Division III field hockey program, in compliance with NCAA, NCAC and The College of Wooster rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Head Coach with responsibilities pertaining to sustaining a highly competitive Division III field hockey program.
Assists the Head Coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition.
Assists with the design of workout programs and training routines to improve athletic performance.
Assists, as directed, with implementing and supervising athletic training, strength, and conditioning workouts, provide technical support and training to athletes, as assigned by the Head Coach
Conducts recruitment of student-athletes in accordance with NCAA, NCAC and The College of Wooster rules.
Oversees and coordinates one or more specified areas of a sporting discipline and/or a component of a team, as assigned by the Head Coach.
Assists, as assigned, in planning and arranging team travel; may coordinate personnel and equipment transportation and accommodations.
Bachelor's degree is required. Current, valid driver's license is required. Background coaching and/or playing at a competitive level, excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and strong work ethic. Goalkeeping experience preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required; demonstrate knowledgeable background coaching and/or playing at a competitive level. Understanding of NCAA, NCAC and The College of Wooster regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
