* Assists with coordination and administration of Sports Medicine program. Assists Director of Athletic training in a manner that provides for competent and comprehensive medical care for all student-athletes participating in the FIU Athletics program. Oversees inventory control.
* Works cooperatively with and under the direction of the team physician in respect to rehabilitation procedures; operation of therapeutic devices; Referrals to physicians, health services, or hospitals, oversees Student Athletes in the FIU Concussion Protocol; prevention of athletic injuries. Assists the team physician in determining whether a student-athlete is medically fit for participation in practices and/or games.
*Administers first aid to injured student-athletes. Applies protective or injury preventative devices such as taping, bandaging and/or bracing.
*Assists in supervising the training room, which includes the requisitioning and storage of supplies and equipment, maintaining adequate medical records, maintaining and running inventory control, supervises other training room personnel (GA’s, DAT’s etc.).
*Coordinates educational and practical experiences for graduate assistants and student athletic trainers as governed by NATA Guidelines. Administers graduate assistants and student athletic trainer orientations.
*Coordinates student-athlete physical examinations. Assists in educating student-athletes in areas such as nutrition, personal health, mental wellness and weight control. Attends practices and competitions, both at home and away, in order to provide immediate first aid and to determine playing status and possible medical referral.
*Coordinates sports medicine services for visiting athletic teams.

Master's degree in an appropriate specialization and two years of professional experience, or a bachelor s degree in the appropriate specialization, and three years of experience.
