The Southern Athletic Association is a Division III college athletic conference located primarily in the southeast. The Coordinator of Baseball Umpires will support the work of the student-athletes and coaches in the sport of baseball by working closely with individual institutional assigners to assure that the quality of umpiring throughout the conference is consistent and fair. The Coordinator will develop strategies to grow the pool of quality umpires, will work with the assigners to educate existing umpires in the latest standards and procedures for umpiring in a highly competitive D-3 conference. The Coordinator will report directly, as a contracted/part-time employee, to the Commissioner of the Southern Athletic Association. The position will begin employment for the 2020-21 academic year. The requirements for the Coordinator position will include:
1. Assigning or coordinating at the college level.
2. National rating and NCAA Post-season experience (preferred)
3. Strong knowledge of NCAA baseball rules.
4. Demonstratable organizational, professional, financial and communicative skills
5. Experience in recruiting Umpires.
6. Experience in developing and implementing continuing education programs for SAA Umpires.

The SAA also has affiliate memberships with Transylvania University in Kentucky and Concordia University (Wisconsin) for the sport of field hockey and Trinity University and Austin College in Texas for the sport of football.
