Seattle University is an independent, Catholic, Jesuit institution located on Capitol Hill, one of Seattle’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Serve as the primary media contact for select sports with duties to include writing press releases and features stories; in-game statistics, statistics compilation and reporting; maintaining the Seattle U Athletics website; contributing to the Seattle U Athletics social media platforms.
Assist in the development of special interest stories and content.
Assist in the promotion and coverage of the department’s special events.
Assist with game-day operations and special event operations and other duties as assigned.
Promote a strong positive and professional atmosphere consistent with the mission of Seattle University, department of athletics, Western Athletic Conference and NCAA.
Current bachelor’s degree and acceptance into the Seattle University MSAL graduate program.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office.
Ability to develop strong working knowledge of and adherence to NCAA compliance rules and Seattle University institutional policies.
Excellent computer skills with strong attention to detail.
Must be able to multitask and deal with multiple situations.
Motivated and be able to work independently in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to pass background check.
Preferred Skill Sets:
Prior experience with StatCrew and/or Genius scoring software, Photoshop and InDesign, video editing, web site management and/or social media platforms is preferred.
Prior experience in an athletics communication office setting is preferred.
