Head Tennis Pro Eagles Mere Athletic Association Tennis Center (EMTC)
Term: June 21, 2020 – August 15, 2020 The Tennis Pro is responsible for providing clinics and lessons, supervising special tennis functions, overseeing three assistants, assisting with hard tru court maintenance, and working with the tennis director (EMAA Board Member).
Duties of the Head Tennis Pro include:
Serve as the face of the EMTC and promote the values of respect, integrity, trust and inclusiveness, and demonstrate high moral and ethical standards and hold staff accountable to the same.
Teach tennis in adult and children’s clinics each day from 9 AM – Noon. Coordinate match play in the afternoons for juniors and adults (depending on the day of week).
Manage and mentor two tennis assistants and one office assistant who will work 30-40 hours each week assisting with the clinics, shop management, record keeping and afternoon/evening match play.
Manage tennis shop, including keeping records of all adult and junior players attending any program or using the courts, taking payment for any service or good offered at the Tennis Center, answering the phone and giving out information, as determined by EMAA Board.
Oversee daily maintenance tasks essential to the running of the Tennis Center, including sweeping the courts, cleaning the shop, the bathroom and the area around the Tennis Center. These tasks will be responsibility of tennis assistants.
Court maintenance including helping with sprinkler system and line maintenance.
Offer private lessons with policies and payment structure to be outlined in the employee’s contract and agreed upon by Tennis Center Pro and the EMAA Board member responsible for Tennis Center.
Prepare a bi-weekly “Letter from the Tennis Pro” and submit EMTC schedules to Treetop Eagle Editor according to deadlines (to be provided by Treetop Eagle editor at beginning of season). **Treetop Eagle is a bi-weekly newsletter used to share schedule of events in Eagles Mere.
Prior to start of EMTC season, Director will prepare equipment and EMTC shop, including but not limited to inventory of equipment and purchasing necessary supplies and overall preparation for summer program on the Courts.
At close of the season, Tennis Pro will collect and inventory equipment and properly clean, break down and store all EMTC equipment. In addition, Tennis Pro will meet with EMAA Board member responsible for the tennis center and submit a written report to the Board Member with inventory and requirements for following summer, as well as a review of the tennis assistants, participation numbers and suggestions for improvements. It is mandatory that all court logs are maintained and audited daily and then provided to the EMAA Board at the close of the season.
Participate in special events that are operated by the EMAA, as assigned by the EMAA Board, including monthly cocktail party fundraisers.
College graduate preferred
USPTA or PTR Certification preferred
Experience working as a Tennis Pro
Energized and hard-working with a passion for tennis and working with children

Additional Salary Information:
Housing will be provided for free
Tennis pro will be able to schedule private lessons each afternoon to earn additional money.

The Eagles Mere Athletic Association (EMAA) organizes, encourages, and promotes recreational activities in Eagles Mere, Pennsylvania, during the summer vacation season. Every summer, the EMAA provides an eight week season packed with events for all age groups. Capture the Flag on The Field of Dreams, sailing races on the lake, tennis clinics at The Eagles Mere Tennis Center, and evenings at The Teen Center are just a few examples of the EMAA's weekly events.
