The University of Maine Augusta (UMA) is seeking applicants for the position of Head Men's Basketball Coach. This is a part-time, ten-month, temporary appointment beginning on May 15, 2020. This appointment will end on March 15, 2021.
* Coaching Men’s Basketball; planning and directing practice and games
* Actively recruiting student athletes and recommending candidates for scholarships
* Transporting players and support staff to games
* Actively monitoring the academic progress of student athletes; supporting their academic success by engaging them in weekly study halls during the season and facilitating referrals to other student support resources
* Ensuring compliance with all safety protocols, departmental policies, and University policies
* Maintaining flexibility in a work schedule that will include days, evenings, and weekends, as needed.
Salary: The salary is $8,500.

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Ability to recruit student athletes
Ability to organize and supervise students
Ability to teach basketball and make it a positive educational experience
Demonstrated basketball coaching experience
Valid driver's license
Ability to be approved to operate a University vehicle and transport others
Experience coaching at the University level
Experience fostering the personal growth and development of student athletes
Experience fostering the academic development of student athletes
