Student-Athlete Services Graduate Assistantship Kansas State Athletics Student-Athlete Services welcomes applications for a Football and Men’s Golf Academics Graduate Assistant Counselor for the 2020-21 academic year.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Graduate Assistant in academics will be responsible for assisting in the day to day operations of the Student-Athlete Enhancement Center, including, but not limited to: mentoring student-athletes, monitoring the academic progress of selected student-athletes, supervising study table, unofficial initial eligibility evaluations of prospective student-athletes, recruiting, and other projects as assigned by the full-time staff. Exposure to our specialized learning services for academically at-risk student-athletes, as well as, New Student-Athlete Orientation, summer bridge student-athlete transition program, and teaching potential in the University Experience course also exist. Graduate Assistant Counselors will also participate in weekly professional development meetings in order to expand knowledge and connect with all SAS staff. Some night and weekend hours may be required.

Minimum of one-year experience in student-athlete services / athletics academic services.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
Must be able to work some night and weekend hours.
This position holds expectations of compliance with all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, Kansas State University and K-State Athletics, Inc. Rules and regulations.

Applicants selected for the position must apply and be admitted into the K-State Graduate School. Graduate Assistants must be enrolled in a minimum of six graduate school hours in the fall and spring semesters. Tuition is not covered by the annual stipend; however, out-of-state applicants are eligible to receive in-state tuition rates.

Additional Salary Information: Compensation:
$10 per hour (approx. $15,600) in the first year; potential to earn $12.50 per hour (approx. $19,500) after completion of first year with successful review; paid biweekly (26 pay periods) with medical insurance available. K-State Student-Athlete Services has a solid tradition of placing its Graduate Assistant Counselors into full-time academic/student services positions within Division I athletics departments.
