DEPARTMENT: The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is a NCAA Division II program and a member of the Northeast 10 Conference. Consisting of 19 athletics teams, SCSU's outstanding program continually ranks among the top NCAA Division II programs in the nation, and also boasts a long record of dominance in the Northeast for both team and individual championships. The Owls rank among the top 10 nationally with 80 individual titles and in team championships with 10 titles. SCSU had NCAA championships representation in eight sports in 2016-17 and also ranked among the top-30 percent of all Division II programs in the Clearfield Sports Cup for the 11th straight year.
CATEGORY: Full Time, Contractual
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: defensive coordinator on-field coaching, recruiting, fundraising, off-season training, assisting with administrative duties, academic oversight and community engagement activities. Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with NCAA, Northeast 10 and University regulations. Successful completion of NCAA certification exam. Timely submission of all required requests/paperwork. Reports to the head coach and other duties as assigned by the head coach.
QUALIFICATIONS: An earned bachelor's degree preferred for coaches and a minimum of t wo (2) years of appropriate professional level experience. Commitment in following the letter and spirit of NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. Ability to effectively work with a diverse population of student athletes and coaches in a cultural climate that celebrates diversity.
