The Wagner College Athletic Department is accepting applications for multiple graduate assistant positions. Graduate assistants will help promote the Seahawks 24 NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic programs. Wagner College is a member of the Northeast Conference.
The Coordinator of Business and Finance Graduate Assistant position will report directly to the Deputy Director of Athletics. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Assist in all business office functions including check and cash requests, purchase orders and credit card reconciliations. Assist the Business Manager with weekly and monthly financial reporting and team budgets. Liaison with campus departments including Business Office, HR and IT. All other duties assigned by the Deputy Director of Athletics and Business Manager. Bachelor's degree in business field required, prior work or internship experience in collegiate or professional athletics preferred , strong interpersonal and planning skills, strong knowledge with Microsoft Excel and other computer software programs, the ability to prioritize, organize and implement assigned tasks. The Athletic Facilities and Operations Graduate Assistant will report to the Associate Athletic Director & Director of Athletic Facilities/Operations. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision of all athletic events and facilities, game management with several varsity programs, serve as liaison for visiting teams and officials, assist with scheduling practices and events in all Athletic Facilities, serve as a Building Manager of the multi-use Spiro Sport Center, assist Marketing, Ticketing, and neighboring departments with game day needs, ensure Coaches needs concerning facility & operational issues, troubleshoot game day issues regarding video boards, scoreboards, shot clocks & A/V systems, submit work orders with Campus Operations regarding maintenance, grounds, custodial needs, communicate event logistics & needs to Campus Security, assist as a vendor liaison. Bachelor’s degree required; 1-2 years minimum collegiate athletics experience. Preferred experience working in Facilities & Event Operations. May require heavy lifting up to 50+ pounds Excellent management, leadership, and communication skills a must. (1 opening)
