Summary: Responsible for assisting in administration of all areas related to the success of a Division I Intercollegiate Softball program with a primary focus of working with pitchers.

Statement of Duties and Responsibilities: •Responsible for recruiting student-athletes, on and off campus. •Supervises academic progress of student-athletes. •Responsible for the scouting of opponents. •Serves as a liaison to the Diamond Club, the UTEP Softball Booster Organization. •Coordinates clinics, volunteer activities, and fundraisers for the softball program. •Active involvement in the El Paso softball community. •Assists in the scheduling of sports games. •Planning, management, and evaluation of softball practice. •Develops strategy and bench coaching during softball matches. •Assists with the administration of softball summer camps and planning of conditioning programs. •Assists with the development of post-season and summer individual improvement programs •Knowledge of and compliance with NCAA Rules and Regulations including attendance of NCAA Rules Seminars, timely completion of all NCAA forms and requests for information. •Employee agrees to abide by the Code of Ethics as set forth by the University of Texas at El Paso and the University of Texas System. •Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems. •Complies with all State and University policies. •Employee will practice sound work habits as they relate to internal control responsibilities. •Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities.

One year of Collegiate softball coaching and/or playing experience related to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must have experience working with pitchers at the collegiate level.
Knowledge and skill relating to the game of softball.
Public relations and promotion skills.
