Under supervision of the Assistant Athletics Director, in conjunction with facility coordinators, assist in the building maintenance services and general facility up keep at all ICA facilities. Provide direct facility support including operation and maintenance of mechanical systems, building structures, electrical systems and custodial services. Assist the facilities and operations group with over seeing procedures to open and lock facilities,set up for practices and competitions and perform daily maintenance services at all ICA Facilities. Support the Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) Event Staff (when needed) to coordinate events.
85% FACILITIES AND OPERATIONS Work with facility managers to manage maintenance, equipment inventory and work orders at all ICA facilities. Tasks may include assisting with the maintenance and repair of equipment and proactive cleaning and preparation of facilities.When assigned work at Schaal Aquatics Center, duties will include assisting in the daily operation. Operations include working with the facilities and operations group in the daily opening and closing procedures and facility setup for various campus and external user groups. This includes three ICA teams (men's waterpolo, women's waterpolo and swimming & diving) intramural sports, sports clubs, physical education classes, a number of competitive community youth and adult groups as well as special events. Assist with monitoring department golf cart and vehicle fleet. Support the management of key access to various buildings. Help to coordinate with campus buildings operations, as directed by facility Coordinator (i.e. access & security, HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical custodial, grounds, repairs & maintenance). Work with Facility and Operations department to Create and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and inspections for all ICA competitive facilities and administrative buildings.
15% EVENT MANAGEMENT Work with the Assistant Athletics Director to assist in event management for ICA competitive events. Duties may include coordination of visiting team practices, setup of venue, coordination with TAPS and security, as needed and communication/collaboration with ICA coaches. Attendance at some events is essential to demonstrate collaborative in tent and staff presence.
Minimum Qualifications: Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to multi-task and think critically. Customer service experience. Ability to adapt to a flexible, fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Apps.
Preferred Qualifications: Recent Graduate of UC Davis. Experience with scoreboard controllers and game clocks. Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and/or Microsoft Publisher.
