MAJOR PURPOSE: The Sports Information Director will lead, administer, oversee, and conduct all key resources to promote student-athletes and Jessup Athletics to the public via print and online resources. Additionally, this person will be responsible for staffing, supervising, and ensuring game management requirements are met for all active Jessup sports programs. The Sports Information Director will maintain compliance with all Athletic Department, University, and NAIA policies and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Be familiar with Athletic Department, University, and NAIA policies and regulations.
Maintain quality representation of Jessup Athletics brand by supervising the implementation of content, writing and editing press releases, game stories, game programs, and media guides; designing posters and/or schedule cards, arranging home events for respective sports; keeping and updating stats; conducting interviews with coaches and players; assisting in the maintenance of the athletics website; providing game recaps and other human interest stories for jessupathletics.com; and other duties as assigned.
Create and execute the annual Sports Information strategic plan for Jessup Athletics; including but not limited to social media strategy, website content, and special event management under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director of Communication.
Hire, train, schedule, and supervise game day staff, ensuring that staff is present and adequately set up to perform duties.
Organize and lead both regular season and postseason events, arranging for facilities, score/stat keepers, officials, ticketing, ticket takers, concessions, security, half-time and postgame activities, and other elements of quality event management
Administer and process volunteer, team, and special-event requests
Collaborate with the Director of Athletics, Associate Athletic Director of External Affairs, and development staff to ensure quality execution of sponsor and donor activities
Maintain and ensure distribution of the master events calendar of the department
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with staff, student-athletes, and external constituents.
Develop and maintain Athletics Information Center (AIC).
Actively support and grow the culture of Jessup Athletics within the William Jessup University ecosystem.
Must be willing to work non-traditional work hours as needed ; night and weekends required as needed.

Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, communications, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years experience leading key components of a sports information office including but not limited to; hire, train and manage staff, budget oversight, marketing and communication strategy and implementation of plan to staff.
Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Windows Office Suite
Required Knowledge of Google Platform including Google Drive
Experience with desktop publishing programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Must possess good writing and editing ability and knowledge of AP writing style with experience in copywrite oversight
Expertise in website management and design
Minimum Class B driver’s license required. Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass WJU MVR (Motor Vehicle Requirement).
