The Senior Associate Athletics Director – Championship Resources is the chief athletics revenue officer for Intercollegiate Athletics. The candidate will oversee all athletics strategic functions related to external revenue generation and collaborate with Institutional Advancement on athletics giving and philanthropic initiatives.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Point person for all athletics strategic functions related to external revenue generation
Collaborates with Athletics Director, coaches and staff to identify priority athletics capital needs
Builds, maintains and strengthens positive relationships with individuals within external community.
Builds, maintains and strengthens positive relationships with individuals within University community.
Oversight of Director of External Relations, Director of Lion Champions Fund, and External Relations GA
Work directly with Athletics Director on Capital Projects – immediate and long-range planning
Portfolio of athletics top 35-50 donors and liaison with AD’s Champions’ Circle
Key Relationship Manager with top-tier LSP partners (and handle AD engagement)
Chief liaison with Strategic Communications team
Member of Athletics Executive Team
Management of Lion Sports Properties - contract negotiations, fulfillment, stewardship, and philanthropy
Provides oversight of ticket sales and service including season ticket events, alumni and donor specials, etc.
Performs research regarding individuals’ major giving capacity, interests and giving history.
Maintains moves management as it pertains to fundraising and fundraising databases.
Assists in the research and development of appropriate fundraising proposals.
Works with Associate AD – Student-Athlete Success on Lion Leadership Academy (student-athletes)
Sport Administrator for Men’s and Women’s Golf
Regularly attends and participates in university wide functions.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Five years of related experience.
Knowledge / Skills: Strong organizational skills, ability to work well with colleagues and students. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to: Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to present information clearly and concisely. Ability to manage several large projects simultaneously.
Other Requirements: Frequent travel averaging about 40% of time spent out of the office. Travel will include air and overnight stays.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE: Higher Education fundraising experience with emphasis in Athletics or face-to-face solicitation. Database application experience. SUPERVISION OF OTHERS: External Operations Coordinator
