The Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator is primarily responsible for the leadership, supervision, development, organization and monitoring of all team and individual strength and conditioning programs. Reporting to the Deputy Athletic Director, the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach will have direct responsibility for football and any other sports as assigned. Candidate must be knowledgeable, motivated and demonstrate a commitment to a safe, disciplined and current weight lifting, speed and conditioning program to benefit student- athletes in all Catamount sports. Candidates must also possess strong administrative and communication skills. Content Areas: a. Instruction of exercise technique, training of student athletes and personnel, record management, monitoring all programs, emergency procedures and number of participants within a facility (room capacity). b. Collaborate with sport coaches and other strength staff to optimize student- athlete health, wellness, development and performance. c. Develop and maintain databases for conditioning and sport performance data. d. Supervise the Athletic Performance staff. e. Facility: Maintenance of checklists, equipment cleaning, ordering and replacing equipment. f. Operation: Determination of operation hours, conduct of supervisors and student athletes within the facility. Direct Emphasis: a. Develop and document specific weight training programs for intercollegiate student-athletes. b. Schedule facility use. c. Educate and supervise student-athletes in the use of weight training equipment and lifting techniques. d. Work with the athletic training staff in rehabilitation and adaptations to weight programs for injured student-athletes.
