Director of Communications

Major Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary conference contact for Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Indoor Track & Field, and Outdoor Track & Field.
• Help compile and draft copy for conference publications, news releases, awards and promotional material.
• Maintain and regularly update conference game statistics and records.
• Help create a visual and textual identity for championships and other conference events.
• Oversee the conference editorial content calendar.
• Assist with Football 365 and other key Football multimedia posts.
• Assist with metrics for social media, Google Analytics, traffic and engagement data.
• Identify ways to maximize and optimize website usage and social media growth.
• Assist with web site, including, but not limited to, writing and securing content, updating schedules and scores.
• Assist with social media communication strategy by creating and implementing strategies on social media platforms, including but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tik Tok in order to increase fan engagement, educate the public and build confidence in the conference brand.
• Travel to Sun Belt Conference Championship events for Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Indoor Track & Field, and Outdoor Track & Field to serve as primary communications contact
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One to two years of related experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Significant experience with Microsoft Office, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, Stat Crew, and other software applications.
• Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others and be a good listener.
• Exude professionalism in all communications and activities.
• Maintain positive attitude and high level of enthusiasm.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving skills.
• Uphold a high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.
• Ability to travel.
