Assistant Director, Football Operations

The University of California, Los Angeles is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director, Football Operations. This is a contract, full-time position with a targeted annual salary of $50,000.00 with full health benefits and membership in the UC Retirement Plan. Under the general supervision of the Director of Football Operations, incumbent will provide administrative services and assist in the management of the Football program. Primary responsibilities include: assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Football program; assisting with team travel, team meals, team training table, on-campus parking, and on-and –off campus housing; assists with the allocations for game tickets, preseason training camp, facility upgrades, practice operation, Spring Ball practices, and Pro Day; Assist the liaison to, DIA Business & Finance, DIA Human Resources, DIA Marketing, DIA Video Operations, DIA Facilities, DIA medical training staff, DIA Communications football equipment operations, UCPD, the NFL, visiting coaches, game day family contact; work closely with coaching and support staffs on budgetary items, coaches courtesy car program; assist with alumni relations, IMG, game management; and other duties as assigned. Incumbent will work in conjunction with the Director of Football Operations to prioritize and complete ongoing tasks following established departmental guidelines and policies. Periodic in-progress checks of work are made. In addition, work is reviewed when actions represent a deviation from standard guidelines. Expressions of interest must be received by February 12, 2021. All applicants should demonstrate the following abilities/qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required; Must have a thorough understanding of NCAA Division I Football; Must have excellent writing and oral communication skills to communicate effectively at a variety of levels including officials of the NCAA and Pac-12, administrators, staff, and coaches; Demonstrated writing skills to complete concise, effective and grammatically correct reports, policy statements, procedures and correspondence; Incumbent must be able to work cooperatively with other University departments in a complex administrative environment; Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment to handle sensitive and confidential information/material with discretion; Incumbent must be skilled in managing and organizing personnel, equipment, and material resources in order to provide the most efficient working environment; Ability to interact diplomatically with individuals of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds; Must have the ability to analyze situations and systems, identify problems, and implement solutions impartially and fairly; Ability to make decisions on immediate problems within prescribed scope of authority, based on knowledge of policies and procedures, including pertinent NCAA rules and regulations; Ability to prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in assignments, deadlines, completing requirements, and workload; Skill in organizing material, information, and people in a systematic way to optimize efficiency and minimize duplication of effort; Ability to communicate with personnel in a clear and concise manner; Superior public relations skills, including outstanding interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and correspondence with staff, faculty, recruits, parents, donors, Pac-12 and NCAA officials; Ability to screen all walk-in visitors, calls, and mail to establish priorities and make appropriate referrals; Ability to perform under stress and maintain composure in the face of resistance, indifference or hostility; Demonstrate word processing and computer skills to complete assignments with speed and accuracy; Knowledge of XOS Video System; Knowledge of University policies and procedures; Knowledge and ability to comply with Pac-12 Conference and NCAA rules and regulations; Prior experience in NCAA Division 1 Football is preferred; Ability to operate a computer with working knowledge of various computer software systems including: Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, Recruiting Radar, ACS, Prep Tracker, Page Maker, VISIO and database entry is preferred. |
