Salary and Terms: Athletic fixed-term, full-time position. Salary placement is based on qualifications.

Position Description The Assistant Coach will be involved in all aspects of the SMSU Football Program including recruiting, practice planning, game planning, organization, scheduling and travel management. The position will have assistant coaching and athletic administrative responsibilities. Other job duties to be assigned may include diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives, student-athlete academic success, camp coordination, fund raising, or other assignments that reflect the expertise of the candidate. Position maybe assigned teaching duties as part of the position’s responsibilities based on area of study and previous experience.
Minimum Qualifications: • Master’s degree. • Three years of football coaching experience. • Demonstrated commitment or proven strategies for fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and demonstrated ability or proven strategies to teach and work with persons from diverse backgrounds are required. • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships through the recruitment process and student-athlete experience. • Ability to develop and implement diversity and inclusion programming and support within the SMSU Football program and the Department of Athletics. • Experience with and knowledge of NCAA compliance policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications: • Offensive, defensive, or special teams coordinating experience at the collegiate level. • Successful collegiate recruiting record. • Facility oversight, fundraising, and game management experience. • Prior teaching experience.
