Director of Recruiting

Reporting to the Head Football Coach, the Director of Recruiting manages individuals who also hire, train, evaluate, and provide feedback to employees. This position is also accountable for the direction, administration, and coordination of a program that is responsible for a variety of student-athlete related functions. The incumbent exercises independent, professional judgment beyond proscribed routine policies and procedures to carry out the athletic department and football program’s mission statement to recruit and retain student-athletes for the University of Oregon. The Director manages and supervises the day-to-day operations of the recruitment of football student-athletes. Responsibilities include managing social media regarding recruitment content, branding, and communication; coordinating recruiting travel and scheduling home visits for coaches and prospective student-athletes; coordinating both official and unofficial visits for prospective student-athletes; and overseeing scholarship limits and roster size within NCAA regulations. The independent decisions made by the incumbent commit the program to a specific course of action and carry fiduciary responsibility and accountability for the management of the program. This position is part of a management team that determines the success of both the football program's on-field success and the student-athlete’s success as an individual. This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Pac-12 Conference, and the NCAA.
