POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Development is a professional fundraising position for the Green Wave Club. The Assistant Director identifies prospective donors, cultivates donor relationships, and solicits donations or gifts from individuals, corporations, or foundations. This position stewards Athletics’ donors and prospective donors. The Assistant Director is involved with all aspects of generating private donor support for Tulane Athletics. This position works closely with Central Development and athletic leadership. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Identifies, cultivates, and solicits annual fund and major gift donations or monetary giving commitments from donors. Maintains a monthly minimum level of appointments or calls. Monitors activities to determine effectiveness and maximize contributions. Personally visits donors as directed or as appropriate in an effort to promote fundraising efforts and coordinates with supervisor when necessary. (50%) 2. Maintains daily internal operations and project management at the assignment of the Assistant Athletic Director of Development. (40%) 3. NCAA Related: Ensures that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletic Department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately. Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitors all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations. (5%) 4.
