Head Athletic Trainer Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 58 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Located on the historic Eastern Shore, SU's beautiful campus is some 30 miles from the Atlantic beaches and 2.5 hours from Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Head Athletic Trainer. Primary Job Duties: Oversee, supervise and be responsible for all day-to-day operations of the athletic training program as it relates to the prevention, management, rehabilitation, evaluation and care of injury related situations relating to intercollegiate student-athletes. Prepare injury reports, process insurance claims and serve as a liaison with team medical physician, off-campus medical treatment and with the parents of student-athletes. Supervise some athletic training students who complete a clinical rotation in the Athletic Training Clinic. Minimum Qualifications: Five to seven years of related experience and a Master’s degree. Athletic Training degree at either the undergraduate or graduate level. NATA membership, BOC certification, and any Maryland State Athletic Training license that may or will exist. CPR and First Aid Certification required within the first 90 days of employment. Must have strong knowledge of the athletic training requirements and regulations of the NCAA. Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, follow-through, time management, and oral & written communication skills. Exceptional problem solving, organization and planning, analytical and interpersonal skills with sensitivity to a diverse population; ability to work independently; ability to effectively work with professional staff and student-athletes. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, independently, and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required. This is a full-time exempt State position with a full benefits package.
