Associate Athletic Trainer

Education and Experience:

Master’s Degree and 5 years of experience is required.

Degree in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine or related field is preferred.

NATABOC certification is also required.

Texas licensed athletic trainer (licensed or eligible).

Additional certifications to enhance treatment, prevention, or management of athletic injuries is preferred (i.e. Dry Needling, PES, EMT, Graston, etc..)

The position requires occasional travel to provide support and care for student-athletes and coaches for away competition. Travel will be expected during high level competition that would include conference and national championships.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in writing. A strong customer service orientation is essential.

Candidate must possess strong organizational, planning and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks. A strong focus on attention to detail is essential.

Candidate must demonstrate strong problem solving skills with the ability to identify, analyze problems and devise solutions.

Candidate must possess basic skills of Microsoft Office programs i.e. Word and Excel. Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize injury documentation and tracking software is essential.
