James Madison University, a Division I member of the NCAA and Colonial Athletic Association, is seeking an Assistant Men’s Golf Coach to work within a highly competitive program. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.
Duties and Responsibilities The responsibilities of the Assistant Men’s Golf Coach include but are not limited to: coaching, daily instructions with the team, recruiting, player development, transportation of players to and from practice, facility up keep, overseeing academics of players, team travel and compliance with NCAA, CAA and JMU regulations.
Qualifications A bachelor’s degree is required. Candidates should preferably have previous coaching/playing experience and the ability to recruit high level student-athletes at the Division I level. A qualified candidate will possess the skills in teaching course management to student-athletes and helping them on course in tournaments. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills and will possess initiative and leadership. The ability to guide and support James Madison University student-athletes in their quest for excellence-academically, athletically and socially as they prepare for productive and meaningful lives is essential. In addition, the ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, parents, administrators, faculty, staff and the community is required.
