The Raymond J. Bourque Arena at Endicott College is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Ice Arena & Equipment Services. This first-class ice arena named for National Hockey League and North Shore community activist Ray Bourque is a state-of-the-art facility that provides both the Endicott and surrounding North Shore communities with a home for collegiate and high school competitions, practices, intramurals, and other events. This arena is home to the Endicott men's and women's ice hockey programs that have risen to national prominence in only a few years of NCAA Division III eligibility.
As a Graduate Assistant, you will operate and maintain an ice area while gaining experience in planning, managing, and developing programming for students, student-athletes, and outside groups.
The Bourque Arena has seating for 1,000 spectators, six locker rooms including Endicott-team locker rooms for the varsity programs, a concession stand with an expansive menu, a hospitality suite, entertaining space, and team meeting room, and bathrooms available for the public.
The Graduate Assistant will assist the Director of Rink Operations in day-to-day operations of the arena. We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills, the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with facility user groups and comfortable monitoring building security and enforcing policies to ensure the safety of all guests.
Perform routine ice resurfacing and maintenance Oversee the facility daily operation and special events Supervise work-study student staff Support for varsity ice hockey teams, including team laundry and equipment Assist with building maintenance and projects, including routine cleaning Ensure operations equipment are in good working order at all times Oversee operation of concession stand Welcome the opposing team to campus Escort teams/coaches to locker rooms Assist the Event Manager with the overall operation of the event During championship events, be available for games/ride fan buses

Benefits: Aug - May contract for two years as stated in Employee Handbook for part-time, exempt, administration employees. Package includes stipend paid over 21 pay periods, room, board, meal plan and tuition remission. Class fees are not included.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management, Recreation, Physical Education, or related field; experience in the field of recreation; acceptance into Endicott College School of Graduate & Professional Studies; CPR and First Aid Certification required
