Louisiana Tech University is seeking candidates for an Associate Athletics Director for Brand Engagement. This is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits and reports to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Business Strategy.
Duties and responsibilities: -Oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing and branding strategy designed to generate revenue through external engagement and in-game presentation. -Serve on the Executive Staff of Vice President/Director of Athletics. -Work closely with the Associate Athletics Director for Revenue Generation to ensure marketing strategy is integrated with sales and pricing strategy. -Administer marketing and brand advancement departmental budget. -Serve as the department’s primary liaison to multiple campus groups and organizations (band, spirit, etc.). -Serve as a liaison to university marketing and communications department. -Coordinate the development and execution of game scripts that maximize the experience of LA Tech students and fans in attendance while ensuring that in-game promotions and activities are well-organized and executed according to plan. -Work closely with LA Tech Sports Properties to make certain that all sponsorship elements are activated per the terms of the agreement. -Supervise the Director of Video Operations/Creative Services in the production of content that showcases the academic, athletic, and other achievements of student-athletes while growing the LA Tech athletics brand. -Facilitate the production and distribution of collateral marketing materials in conjunction with third-party graphic designer.
Essential Competencies: -Comprehensive knowledge of marketing and brand advancement best practices and strategies within the sports profession. -Excellent written and oral communication skills. -Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully with internal and external stakeholder groups. -Ability to work extended hours that are often outside of the normal business schedule such as evenings, weekends, and holidays. -Understanding of NCAA rules related to the position.
Direct Oversight Responsibility: Director of Video Operations/Creative Services. 2 FT Marketing Interns.
Qualifications include: -Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field required. -Master’s degree preferred. -At least three years of full-time experience working in a marketing capacity in college athletics preferred.
