The IT Software Engineer maintains, implements and integrates both on premise and hosted systems using primarily web-based technologies for Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA). The position will support departments and teams in using an agile development methodology.
The IT Software Engineer will implement software applications and business process workflows within the Intercollegiate Athletics Department; review and produce deliverables including working software applications and data analytics visualizations. Utilize Application Programming Interface (API) to integrate different applications while following a formal development methodology process. This position will report to the ICA Director of Information Technology.
The IT Software Engineer will review and produce project and system documentation including specifications, technical requirements, test plans, and database schemas; develop the sports performance analytics framework in collaboration with Strength & Conditioning, Sports Medicine, Coaches, and various other on campus development colleagues; develop data integration strategies for Gossett Student-Athlete Center (GSAC) and Student Athlete Tutoring; mentor student software engineers, define software engineering methods, processes, and principles, and ensure engineers adhere to established standards; provide systems administration for software applications including data security, user and account management, user guides; maintain Mobile and Web Applications for the IT department; Provide status reports and scheduling to deliver solutions on time and under budget. The IT Software Engineer will work with System and Network Administrators to create scripts and automation for daily operations and to perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or Management Information Systems.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of Development Experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Use Application Programming Interface (API) to retrieve data/integrate systems
Ability to integrate Central Authentication Service (CAS) into application for single sign on and security/authentication.
Project Management Skills including coordinating project level work, planning tasks and managing resources with departments across athletics.
Knowledge of Sport Science methodologies and concepts to gather requirements and specify key performance indicators by sport.
Ability to create metric dashboards with previously identified Key Performance Indicator (KPI)s and available data.
One (1) year of Sports Science Analytics experience preferred.
