Applications are invited for the position of Associate Athletic Director for NCAA Compliance at Saint Michael's College, a private, Catholic Liberal Arts and Sciences College located in the greater Burlington area of Vermont. Saint Michael's is an NCAA Division II institution sponsoring 21 varsity sports, and is a proud member of the Northeast-10 Conference. This is a full-time (12 month) position with benefits.
The successful applicant will manage all aspects of a comprehensive NCAA (and related conferences) Division II compliance program, to include initial and continuing eligibility processing for over 400 student-athletes, and monitoring and educating students, coaches and staff. A key member of the department's administrative team, this person will also have some varsity sport supervision responsibilities.
Serve as College's Administrator for the NCAA Portal and Single Source Sign On, the NCAA Compliance Assistant software program, and the National Letter of Intent program.
Provide support and supervision for seven varsity programs.
Manage the initial eligibility process for all new prospective student-athletes every year. Manage the continuing eligibility process for over 400 student-athletes every year.
Maintain responsibility for roster management of all varsity programs using Compliance Assistant and ARMS software.
Provide comprehensive monitoring program to ensure student-athletes, staff, and community members adhere to NCAA rules.
Review and process all monitoring reports (CARA, contact/evaluation, try-outs, etc.)
Provide a NCAA rules education program for student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
Process all eligibility waiver applications and legislation violation self-reports.
Process documentation for official and unofficial visits by prospects, working with Athletic Training to record proper documentation for all prospective student-athlete tryouts.
Provide rules interpretations for coaches and College staff.
Develop rules education/"hot topics" program for student-athletes, coaches and staff, utilizing social media and other technologies whenever possible.
Maintain NCAA compliance manual and compliance web page on SMC's website.
Coordinate NCAA Coaches Certification program.
Administer the on-line signature program for the NCAA Student-Athlete Statement and Drug Testing Consent Forms.
Provide the compliance content for all NCAA Eligibility Meetings.
Responsible for generating all NCAA Compliance-related reporting (GSR/ASR, Sports Sponsorship and Demographics, etc.)
Generate semester and annual academic reports; monitor mid-semester grade warnings.
Serve as Athletic Department Liaison to Admissions, Student Financial Services, Registrar and Academic Affairs.
Assist with the coordination of departmental special events throughout the year.
Applicants must have:
A Bachelor's degree; a Master's degree is preferred.
Previous experience with NCAA Compliance rules and regulations. At least three years of direct experience working in NCAA compliance, preferably at the NCAA Division II or I level, is preferred.
Outstanding organizational, management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of constituents.
A Valid driver's license. Applicants must be able to successfully pass driving record check.
