Southern Illinois University Carbondale is an NCAA Division I member of the Missouri Valley and Missouri Valley Football Conference and Mid-American Conference. We currently have a civil service vacancy for an Accounting Associate.
This position is responsible for knowledge of planning and budgeting techniques, accounting knowledge, knowledge of NCAA regulations and computing concepts. Requires business experience, good communication skills, computer skills and and personnel management skills. Leadership and good supervisory ability as well as good public relations skills are required. Understanding of University and State regulations and policies are required to ensure control and compliance.
Appointment: 12-month term, full-time, salary commensurate with experience.

Bachelor's degree with a major in Accountancy or related field AND two (2) years of professional level accounting experience OR Possession of current registration as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant, or a valid license to practice Public Accounting (LPA) OR Master's Degree in Accountant or a related field. Additional training and/or work experience in an area of specialization inherent to the position may be required.
