JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of Leadership Annual Fund and athletics donors and prospects for the offices of Development and Athletics. Oversees special annual fund mailings and follow up solicitations. Manages the Six Man Booster Club and other affiliated athletic booster groups.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Support the annual fundraising needs of the athletic department in collaboration with the Athletic Director, and under direction of the development office. Interacts with prospects and boosters, donors, staff and outside professionals to provide giving information regarding Athletic programs. 2. Work with annual fund team, athletics leadership and coaching staff to ensure successful fundraising events including sponsorships of golf tournaments, booster club activities, field signage, scholarships, key facility improvements and equipment needs. 3. Work collaboratively with the Athletics Director and office of development to develop a prospect pool of donors for cultivation and plans an annual strategy for solicitation of athletics alumni in order to increase gift income and the percentage of athletics alumni giving to the college. 4. Make 12-16 solicitation visits or substantive donor contacts per month. 5. Develop, prepare and present formal fundraising proposals to donors and prospects. 6. Attend on-campus and off-campus events, as needed, to assist in cultivation of donors. 7. Maintain portfolio of selected gift prospects. 8. Contribute to the success of the office of development by performing all other duties as needed to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of the College.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS: 1. Minimum high school degree or equivalent required. A bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, PR/Marketing or related area strongly preferred. 2. A minimum of three years proven experience in development/donor solicitation or direct fund-raising, preferably in athletics or higher education. 3. Demonstrated team player with ability to gain trust and confidence with colleagues and constituents. 4. Strong organizational and motivational skills necessary. 5. Must possess impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written; exemplify a professional demeanor; a positive attitude; and the knowledge and ability to keep confidences. 6. Must be computer literate; possess creative ability; possess strong ability in planning and organization; and have the ability to handle diverse types of work assignments. 7. A goals-oriented focus with a commitment towards achieving results.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. 2. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. 3. Must be able to regularly travel locally and operate a personal motor vehicle for various business related meeting requirements. 4. Position may require working long hours at a computer.
