The Strategic Communications Assistant will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day activities of the office which include creating and implementing social media content plans for assigned accounts. Those efforts include working with coaching staffs, developing and implementing communications strategies, social media, account administration, creating strategies for fan engagement and attendance and assisting the strategic communications staff’s engagement measurement initiative.
This position is an appointment for 2021-2022 academic year with the opportunity for a second term. If the tuition waiver option is chosen this is not a formal Graduate Assistantship through the UK Graduate School. However, this position can include a combination of tuition waiver and monthly stipend not to exceed a pre-determined allocation upon successful admission into a qualifying masters program at UK. Additional compensation over the summer months will be determined at the discretion/need of the athletics department.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Communications, Marketing, Sports Management or related field. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays when they fall on certain game days
Additional Salary Information: The successful applicant will be able to choose between an hourly position or a tuition waiver plus stipend position.
