Job Summary: Provides comprehensive academic support to assist all student-athletes in identifying and meeting their academic and development goals leading to graduation. The Graduate Assistant position will monitor the academic performance of student-athletes and serve as a liaison to coaches, academic advisors, compliance staff, and campus partners. This position supports the university's efforts to establish a commitment to athletics, academics, personal growth, service, and career enhancement. Compensation for the position includes a tuition waiver and monthly wage. Responsibilities: •This position will work with the Academic Coordinator to oversee 15 varsity sports •Help with ticket distribution for football games •Meet with student-athletes weekly to set academic goals, develop time management skills, and study strategies. •Provide updates to academic staff and coaches on a regular basis. •Prepare academic reports. •Supervise academic center and tutorial program; monitor study hall sessions. •Assist in the continuing eligibility process, including calculating progress towards degree requirements. •Assist with student-athlete workshops. •Maintain highly confidential files •Maintain and update software and database used by the department. (i.e. Compliance Assistance, Navigate, ARMS) •Implement Student-Athlete Development programming •Assist in SAAC initiatives •Oversee @UWFSAAC and @UWFSADEV social media accounts •Other duties as assigned by Academic Coordinator. •Abide by and comply with NCAA, GSC, and University rules and regulations.

Must have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to set appropriate professional boundaries with student-athletes.
Candidates must be able to work with a diverse population of student-athletes
They must also be reliable, possess a strong work ethic, have the ability to work independently and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work well with others.
Available to work nights and weekends.
Master’s Degree, Acceptance into the UWF Doctoral Program, Previous experience in academics/higher education/student affairs, Desire to make a career in academic support services/development

Additional Salary Information: Additional Salary Information: Graduate assistants will receive full tuition and fees and a 10-month stipend in the amount of $8,000 (includes matriculation waiver and out-of-state tuition where applicable).
