We are looking to fill a senior level position on the Private Markets (“PM”) team. At this point, we are still determining the best way to round out the team and are considering either a Director level and/or an individual contributor position.
This individual will be a member of the private markets team within NEPC’s broader investment research group. The primary job function will be to work as part of the PM team to analyze private equity industry trends, identify attractive investment themes, identify and perform due diligence on investment managers, and work with clients to build and structure PM investment portfolios. In addition, this individual will assist in client meetings to discuss private equity themes, recommend potential investments and construct plans for implementation into client portfolios. It is expected that this individual will be involved with negotiation of partnership agreements, assessment of investment commitments for clients and cultivation of private equity manager relationships. The individual will also be responsible for the creation, design and delivery of presentations, both internal and external (new business, client-related, educational, conferences). NEPC has a strong commitment to ESG and DEI and this role will be closely involved in leading and advancing those initiatives.
Additional Director Responsibilities:
The Director level role will oversee all research efforts related to Private Equity & Debt, including management of the PM team. This includes strong leadership and ongoing performance reviews, mentoring/coaching, assigning workload/projects, managing resource allocations (staff, data management, technology), ensuring quality deliverables, and developing business plans and budgets.
Ten plus years of investment experience and significant experience in private markets is required. Highly developed computer skills, proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint and a demonstrated operational focus is required. Qualified individuals must be comfortable with modeling and quantitative analysis, have outstanding writing skills and be comfortable with creating and giving professional oral presentations to colleagues and clients. Candidates must be detail-oriented and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multiple-task team environment. College degree required. It is expected that this individual be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Advanced degree and/or the CAIA® designation or CFA® designation (or progress toward these credentials) is a plus. Candidates for this position will most likely be serving in a comparable role at an institutional asset allocator, general partner, consulting firm, or investment bank.
