The Associate Director of Athletics Communications coordinates outgoing messaging to shape, enhance and protect the Baylor Athletics brand and image, by monitoring public perception and through verbal and digital communication with media and constituents.
A Bachelor's Degree, one year of relevant work experience, and a Christian faith are required. Three years of relevant work experience are preferred.
Operations: Serve as the primary public relations practitioner and media liaison for volleyball, men’s tennis, acrobatics & tumbling and other duties as assigned. Assist with all media needs pre- and post- competition. Ensure flow of information (social media, statistics, video, press releases, etc.) are timely and accurate. Maintain historical archives to ensure program history is preserved for future generations. Travel with assigned programs and assist with coverage of additional programs as necessary.
Brand Monitoring & Messaging: Monitor public perception of assigned athletic programs and coordinate strategic messaging to media and public.
Communication: Maintain communication with coaches and administration relative to media requests and team statistics.
Compliance: Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and institution rules and regulations and to communicate immediately any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to the Athletics Compliance staff.
Other Duties: Other program duties as requested by the Director of Athletics or the area head.
