The Assistant Director of Communications reports directly to the Assistant Commissioner for Communications and is responsible for communications and media relations in designated sports, with women’s basketball as the primary assignment. The position will work on all aspects of Atlantic 10 Communications and Media Relations.
Specific Responsibilities: •Primary media contact for women’s basketball and multiple Olympic sports. Current assignments would be volleyball, women's soccer, lacrosse and tennis with oversight of softball (assigned to intern), and are subject to change as needed. •Maintain records, notes and awards, and oversees statistics utilizing current statistical technology in assigned sports. •Work with championships staff on administration and promotion of assigned championship events. •Work directly with Senior Associate Commissioner on women’s basketball regular season and other Championship directors on designated championship administration. •Oversee all media operations at the Women's Basketball Championship, including credentialing, media volunteer coordination, scorers' table operations, media seating and operations and serving as the liaison with television partners to manage game start times and other TV needs. •Produce selected publications (basketball media guide, basketball program, A-10 directory) •Assist in media monitoring and cultivation, to include weekly calls and communication with television talent and beat writers from the 14 member institutions. •Schedule media opportunities for conference Senior Associate Commissioner for Women’s Basketball •Work with communications staff to utilize and develop current and emerging technologies to promote the Atlantic 10 brand through social media. •Develop creative, cutting edge approaches for brand enhancement of A-10 sport programs utilizing technology and social media through traditional and non-traditional outlets for measurable distribution. •Ability to design infographics and email newsletters for digital and social distribution. •Serve as primary communications contact for league coverage of A-10 SAAC initiatives. •Work in conjunction with the Senior Associate Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner on promotion of the A-10 Commission on Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. •Update Atlantic10.com with relevant news and information in conjunction with communications staff and website provider, ensuring all information in assigned sports is current and up to date.
Administrative Duties: •Plan and execute women’s basketball media day, in conjunction with the Commissioner, Women's Basketball Championship director and Assistant Commissioner of Communications. •Represent the league at selected regular season and post-season contests and events.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Preferred) with 3 - 5 years of experience in media services. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast pace environment.
