The Web Manager will perform a wide array of tasks necessary to design, code and maintain Athletics presence on web, mobile, and through the app, to ensure a positive, on brand user experience.
Manage, design and code websites as assigned by supervisor and/or Athletics Director, including sport files, story files, feature pages, PURL websites for season ticket renewals and aspects of email marketing operations. Responsible for accurate updating, maintenance, compliance and continuity of TexasSports.com, TheLonghornFoundation.com, and the Texas Longhorns app. Work collaboratively with the Ticket Office, Marketing and Longhorn Foundation to confirm customer data for numerous email campaigns: Season ticket renewals, ticketing promotions, marketing of suite/clubs and surveys. Work collaboratively with social media manager and processes to effectively create, place, manage and track campaigns and other strategic messaging strategies. Work collaboratively with teams to develop marketing assets such as microsites and landing pages that will enhance the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. Understand and collaboratively works on list pulls, segmentation and personalization of targeted messaging campaigns. Understand how, and be prepared to pull targeted lists as necessary. Collaborate in the translation of business objectives into effective web and mobile strategies and manage the transition of web-related activities and structure to a higher level of aesthetics and specialization. Maintain responsive design, ensuring a quality mobile-friendly experience, the addition of new features and content, and smooth and efficient navigation. Manage, develop and implement audience-based web design and mobile experiences collaboratively with all internal constituents, and incorporating on brand Texas sport promotion, marketing rights holder and LHN presence. Develop and implement processes and procedures to maximize technical efficiency, staff coverage and task succession. Create and provide and communicate emergency and afterhours back-up processes and procedures that ensure timely response to requests for posting information and or technical issues that may arise. Maintain a willingness to explore new platforms and processes and keep current with technologies, HTML, XML, Web development and design trends and ADA standards. Create web code for HTML versions of emails. Collaboratively assist with the development and writing of persuasive messaging for web, and sales collateral materials. Manage domain names - Network Solutions - and internet hosting accounts. Maintain and monitor Athletics website, ensuring it stays online, functions well, and ensures a rich online experience. Schedule and ensure on time, high quality streaming of radio broadcasts. Work with all necessary web host, liaisons and partners to resolve website performance issues. Regularly troubleshoot website for broken links and images and other experiential issues. Work with vendors to understand and maximize the functionality of the software to incorporate upgrades and new functionality to improve the user experience. Regularly report on performance using metrics and analytics. Serve as a liaison for the Athletics department with FanOne. This may include any email data concerns, special email campaign workflows, etc. Consistently exemplify the core values (Diversity, Integrity, Accountability, Loyalty, Excellence, Creativity, Teamwork) and quality standards (Safety, Texas Hospitality, Teamwork, Efficiency) of Texas Athletics. Always act ethically. Proactively seek guidance when unsure or unclear of a law, rule or policy applicable to you or your department/sport program. Actively participate in assigned education and training programs. Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Big 12, or other governing body, including state and federal laws. Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income. Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Big 12 Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR. Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation.
