The Content Manager will serve as main graphic designer and will be responsible for the visual brand of the ECU Athletics Department across print, digital and some audio/video platforms, as well as facility graphics with a concentration on areas of baseball, women’s basketball, volleyball, track, and golf. The selected candidate works directly with the Director of Creative Media in the strategic development of awareness campaigns and organizational branding towards the achievement of visibility, relevance and revenue goals / objectives. Position will also serve as a liaison with print advertising media partners across region while developing advertising strategies, schedules and promotions. The Content Manager will work in support of department’s social media efforts, and may be asked to work some game day events. Nights, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and travel are required in the performance of duties.
The position will build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with Pirate Club, athletics, and University staff, students, business vendors and all donors and stakeholders. It will also abide by all written policies and procedures of ECU, the Department of Athletics, The Educational Foundation (Pirate Club), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and all applicable conferences or associations.
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization with at least one (1) year of full-time professional experience in commercial design, art, marketing, graphic design, sports or related field. Expert level experience in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Illustrator and InDesign and working knowledge of Dreamweaver, and After Effects. Preferred candidate must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment; proven ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines; excellent communication skills and be able to clearly communicate project goals to all members of the external division; knowledge of usage and best practices for consumer related products (marketing collateral, websites, TV commercials, digital signage).
