This position exists to direct all SEC Network live productions as it relates to ESPN's partnership with the schools of the Southeastern Conference, meeting the ESPN standard for minimum production is critical. This position works with the Tennessee production team to train students, freelancers & staff to produce ESPN standard broadcast. Other live production participation is also required including videoboard shows. Ability to work collaboratively with a team & push broadcast production standards to a high level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•SEC Network Director - This position directs the live productions (linear & digital) of the SEC Network in which the University of Tennessee is responsible. This person coordinates with UT producers the planning, scheduling, and executing these productions. There is also significant training of other staff members regarding the ESPN standard of production - especially training of students and freelancers. This position works to maintain all ESPN standards across all linear & digital productions.
•Live Production Director - This position will direct and coordinate assigned UT videoboard productions. Should work hand-in-hand with fan experience team to produce high level, engaging shows and assist in the communication and creation of sponsored content. Will meet, work together & assist in training all staff to produce a high level shows. Other live productions will be assigned on an as-needed basis.
•Other duties as assigned to help assist the broadcast team. Must be willing to help organize & maintain the Ray & Lucy Hand Digital Studio. Should also stay up-to-date with all broadcast equipment needs, upgrades & potential new technologies available to enhance broadcasts. Collaborate with creative team, fan experience and other members of the Tennessee Athletic Department.
Associate’s Degree is required. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years in live sports production. Minimum of 2 years in directing live events for television. Preferred 4 years in live sports production. Preferred 4 years in directing live events.
Knowledge of all ESPN/SEC Network standards.
Knowledge of live production and resource needs.
Ability to communicate clearly, work collaboratively.

Preferred knowledge of ESPN/SEC Network linear productions, workflows.
