The Assistant Ticket Manager position exists to provide oversight for the ticket sales and customer service needs of assigned sport programs. The Athletics Ticket Office strategies reflect a concerted effort to maximize ticket sales revenue and increase attendance to sports or athletics related events in order to support the Department of Athletics and its mission.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing exemplary customer service to internal and external constituencies.
Managing ticket sales for assigned sports.
Overseeing accounting and budgetary responsibilities.
Assisting in the allocation and distribution of tickets.
Recording, tracking and reporting on ticket sales revenue.
Managing student ticket distribution.
Providing various data, analytics, and reports.
Performing audits to maintain quality control.
Performing back-office processing.
Other duties, as assigned.
The incumbent works independently and prioritizes his/her own work, much of which is driven by the schedule of events and the needs of the Athletics Ticket Office. Independently makes decisions on customer contacts to maximize ticket sales. Collaborates with the Ticket Services Associates' staff in providing customer service, articulating Athletics Department event ticketing policies, and maintaining the authority to make ticketing decisions during assigned events. Consults with the Director of Ticket Sales and Operations and Assistant Athletics Director of Ticket Sales and Operations when faced with a more challenging problem or a situation beyond the scope of their duties or expertise.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $35,000 - $40,000 per year. This is a fulltime, nonexempt (overtime-eligible) position, which is eligible for the University's benefits package.
Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: Prior administrative experience required; 1-3 years' experience working in a ticket office or other customer service work environment is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to work in a highly energized environment and to meet multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate clearly and to effectively convey information by telephone. Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in interactions with all UVA and Athletics Department staff, outside community including fans, visitors, and other constituencies especially during events. Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to oversee ticket booth staff. Ability to present a professional demeanor while delivering a high level of internal and external customer service. Knowledge of NCAA and ACC rules and regulations preferred.
Computer Applications: Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required; experience utilizing Paciolan and Salesforce highly preferred.
