The University of Nevada Reno is recruiting for an Assistant Director, Compliance Services. The Assistant Director is responsible for tracking and monitoring the University’s procedures for athletics scholarships, coordinating athletic conference documentation for NCAA funds and compliance paperwork and interpreting NCAA and conference rules for those individuals covered above. The position assists with the preliminary investigations for suspected NCAA and conference rules violations, tracking and monitoring recruitment and retention policy, supervising student interns, and coordinating clerical responsibilities to ensure all compliance procedures are properly documented. The Assistant Director develops the rules education program of covered individuals.
The position coordinates the foundation of rules education and program monitoring which allows the University, especially the President, to have confidence in all ICA actions pertaining to NCAA and conference rules. This position reports to the Sr. Associate Athletics Director, Intercollegiate Services.
The Athletics Compliance Services unit is responsible for tracking and monitoring the University of Nevada, Reno’s Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) academics compliance program as outlined by the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and appropriate conference rules for student-athletes, coaches, athletics staff and administration, donors, and the University community. Incumbents are responsible for managing the rules education program for ICA and all institutional staff members. Positions coordinate the foundation of rules education and program monitoring which allows the University, especially the President, to have confidence in all ICA actions pertaining to NCAA and conference rules. Positions report to the Sr. Associate Athletics Director, Intercollegiate Services.
Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience OR a Master’s Degree and one year of related work experience.
Related Experience: experience interpreting NCAA rules and athletics compliance activities.
