The Assistant Director of Creative Content is responsible for the development and execution of graphic design and video content to drive the digital marketing efforts of the department of athletics at American University. Responsible for collaborating the communications and marketing teams to conceptualize ideas and establish marketing, social media, and production schedules to deliver successful and engaging end-products. A successful candidate must be driven and an excellent team player, content creator, strategic thinker, and be able to execute projects from concept to conclusion.
Design and execute compelling creative content for a variety of web, social media, videoboard, broadcast, sales collateral, and print applications – all designed to enhance the fan and student-athletes experience. Work collaboratively as a member of the external team and on game-days as videoboard operator/director, and to assist with live event coverage and marketing efforts. Assure all work is consistent with brand strategy and helps drive and enhance revenue through fan engagement, brand awareness, and sponsorship strategy. Help monitor and analyze social media analytics to inform department strategy and best practices Acts as a leader/mentor for student staff members and interns, providing clear and consistent feedback to maintain effective, efficient communications and best practices.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training or experience.
2-3 years of professional experience in a related field (Graphic Design, Social Media Coordination, Video/Motion Graphics Production).
Must have experience utilizing Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects), social media platforms and video production programs.
Experience in an intercollegiate athletics department or professional sports franchise preferred.
Strong organizational, writing and interpersonal skills are required
