Department Head position within Hubbard Radio Seattle, including KQMV, KIXI, KNUC, KKNW, KRWM and 2060 Digital, managing a broad range of financial and operational functions including administrative, management reporting, traffic, budgeting, internal controls, credit, forecasting, expense review and analysis, and policy compliance. Currently directly supervises staff of 3. Interacts regularly with a wide variety of people including employees, listeners, advertisers, vendors, corporate personnel and the general public.
Apply thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting to financial management of the stations
Supervise the AR, AP, Payroll, traffic, financial and tax reporting requirements of the stations
Close on the sixth business day of the month and prepare account reconciliations
Monitor and analyze revenue and expense variances from budget; understand and explain financial trends
Prepare annual capital and operating budgets that allocate resources to their highest and best use for profitability
Prepare monthly forecasts and report on variances from annual operating budgets
Work closely with Corporate Finance to provide quarterly and annual information for the preparation of consolidated financial statements
Provide management with timely ad hoc reporting as requested or as needed
Responsible for expense management ensuring operating and capital expenditures are in accordance with approved budgets and policies
Develop and maintain revenue summary and cost-analysis reports on both a routine and ad hoc basis. Develop the ability to measure and report profitability by program.
Monitor the application of a broad-range of administrative policies (both personnel and procedural) to keep stations in compliance with external regulators and internal approved practices (including, but not limited to FCC compliance, music licensing, affiliation agreements, political advertising, business ethics, employment practices, insurance policies, program agreements, etc.).
Maintain adequate internal controls including monthly account reconciliations and segregation of duties.
Review all contracts (including program contracts, employee personal service agreements, and vendor agreements) to ensure that Department Heads and Market Manager understand and agree to the essential terms. Actual negotiation of contract terms is sometimes required. Read the fine print and appraise Management of contract risks. Submit contracts to HBI Legal for final execution, along with recommended changes.
Assist the Market Manager by taking on special projects, such as new business development, as requested.
Actively and directly supervise administrative office personnel including managing schedules, coordinating work projects and monitoring performance, addressing issues as needed and completing performance reviews.

Strong accounting experience; demonstrated understanding of GAAP principles. Degree in Accounting preferred.
Five years experience in a financial/strategic planning role. Previous experience with direct supervision preferred.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, manage projects from start to finish, and meet strict deadlines.
Competency in Microsoft Office is required. Job demands extensive report writing, data analysis, and computerized information exchange.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, write coherent and professional letters and memos, and draft simple contract language.
Previous experience in a media company preferred; radio or television highly preferred
Experience with Marketron, NetSuite and/or ADP a plus.
High degree of initiative with strong leadership and decision making abilities; work with a strong sense of integrity
