Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director, Video Production, the Director of Creative Video will provide leadership for the Athletics Creative Video staff, including the ideation and development of all creative video content for Temple Athletics, with a particular emphasis on social media platforms, in-venue video board shows, as well as departmental efforts in recruiting and NIL (name, image, and likeness). Responsible for determining the creative and visual storytelling direction for Temple Athletics. The Director of Creative Video will produce and/or oversee the production all creative video content for Temple Athletics, including but not limited to highlight/interview packages, behind-the-scenes features, student-athlete profiles and other feature content, social media hype videos, television commercials, intro videos, and in-game marketing elements. Recruits, trains, and supervises a team of full-time employees, graduate externs, and/or student interns in the execution of all creative video functions for Temple Athletics. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in any major relevant to video production, video design, and marketing communications. At least four years’ experience working in sports video production at the collegiate level or in the television or other mass communication mediums. Previous experience with audio and video editing programs. Previous experience as a digital videographer. Demonstrated experience in a managerial or leadership role directing student interns and full-time employees in video production practices.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and managerial skills.
Demonstrated proficiency and creativity in shooting (particularly with Sony FS5 and a7 series cameras) in both studio and live sporting event settings.
Demonstrated proficiency and creativity in non-linear video editing, color correction, and sound design, in particular using the Adobe Creative Suite
Demonstrated proficiency and creativity in lighting and studio design
Ability to manage several tasks and/or projects simultaneously.
Proficient in MS Office applications.
Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to customer service.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference and University rules.
