The University of Missouri, a Division I institution and a proud member of the SEC is now accepting applications for the position of Sr. Associate Athletic Director - Compliance & Governance. This senior leadership position will lead the department’s NCAA compliance efforts, including the Name, Image and Likeness program. This position reports to the Director of Athletics and will be an integral member of the executive and senior staffs within Athletics. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, assessing, designing, implementing and managing an effective and efficient NCAA compliance program, including providing rules education for intercollegiate staff, student-athletes, coaches, and related personnel and interpretations regarding NCAA rules and regulations, ensure effective monitoring systems are in place and operational and serve as a liaison with the Southeastern Conference on compliance and governance matters. Monitor, provide input and proactively position the department on governance issues facing intercollegiate athletics and new rules impacting our student-athletes. Ensure potential violations of NCAA and Southeastern Conference rules are thoroughly investigated and if necessary, reported. Provide reports, updates, and summaries of activities to the Director of Athletics as needed. Provide leadership and mentoring to staff. Serve as a department leader in implementing a positive, productive culture. Create and implement department policies, including the student-athlete handbook and the department manual, in alignment with campus, system, State of Missouri and Southeastern Conference procedures and guidelines. This position will serve as a liaison and will work collaboratively with the Office of General Counsel, academics and other campus units as needed. This position may assume sport administration responsibilities and other duties as assigned. So as to prepare the athletic department, this position will maintain a national leadership presence on governance and compliance issues. Additionally, this position will be responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, to include adhering to all departmental policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, SEC and NCAA. A Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred qualifications include 6-8 years of previous experience working in a Division I program; Masters or Juris Doctorate preferred.
