Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for Major Gifts, the Director of Development is responsible for discovering, cultivating, soliciting, and closing major gifts in support of funding priorities for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Director of Development will develop and manage a robust portfolio of prospects who are capable of making major charitable gifts of $50,000 and above. The successful candidate will manage the university’s philanthropic relationships with those donors and prospects while working toward maximizing their generosity and promoting life-long giving in support of the University of Maryland and its athletics program.
