Oversee daily operations, maintenance and planning of all Athletic Grounds and appropriate turf fields located on the University of Memphis Park Avenue Campus including practice, competition, and common ground areas. This includes growth regulation, disease control, pest control, painting, conducting field repairs, waste management, managing irrigation and draining systems.
Maintain University equipment including routine maintenance and coordination with various contractors for repairs. Maintain and edit equipment replacement plan to best fit the needs of the Athletic Turf and Grounds Department.
Oversight of the turf and grounds staff, including hiring of temporary or student workers, as well as manage budget to purchase proper supplies and materials to maintain game fields for practice and competition.
Responsible for ensuring game fields are prepared for competition and ensuring staff is on site as needed. Attend home events as required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Turf Management or related field and a minimum of three (3) years experience in turf management at a golf or athletic facility is required. Commercial Applicator License Category 3 certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
