Job Function: Provide a welcoming, informative and rewarding learning experience through guided tours of the Hall of Champions (HOC) museum. Answer visitors’ questions by directing them to the appropriate exhibits. Serve as host at pre-selected locations in the HOC.
•Conduct 90-minute guided walking tours through the HOC for groups as needed. •Assist with a variety of internal and external special events associated with the HOC. •Assist visitors by answering questions and directing the visitor to various exhibits and theaters. •Serve as “host” at selected locations as assigned by the assistant director of the Hall of Champions and Conference Center or the manager of the Hall of Champions. •Interact/engage with visitors through the interactive area to compete virtually and hands on through sports simulators. •Ensure HOC rules are followed. •Perform other tasks as requested by the HOC staff. •Hospitable •Other duties as assigned.
Education Required High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Ability to lead guided walking tours through the HOC.
Comfortable speaking in small to large groups.
Flexibility to work variety of HOC stations.
This position is on-site at the national office in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Schedule will fluctuate based upon scheduled tours of HOC. The HOC is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday from 12:00 to 5:00pm. Occasional evening events will occur.
All national office staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. As a new hire, you will be required to be fully vaccinated within 8 weeks from acceptance of offer and you will be required to show proof of that vaccination. New hires may submit a request for a medical or religious exemption to the vaccine requirement 1-week post offer if they are unable to comply with this mandate.
